Kentucky Week for the Animals

The 12th Annual Kentucky Week for the Animals will joyfully take place from April 18-April 26, 2020 (postponed because of COVID shutdown). Please join us in planning for the next exciting week for Kentucky's animals!

We are excited to announce that the Kentucky Week for the Animals, presented by Animal World USA, kicks off on Saturday, April 18, 2020. See our Calendar of Events page for more details on the wide array of events taking place across Kentucky during this amazing Kentucky Week for the Animals.

Throughout the special week, shelters, rescue groups, and humane organizations across the state will be hosting wonderful animal-related special events. Educators, students, businesses and caring citizens across Kentucky will be joining in as well, each planning activities to celebrate and help animals.

Events will include adoption fairs, free and low cost spay/neuter events, shelter days, animal programs in libraries, wildlife events, farm animals events and therapy dogs visiting hospitals and living-assisted homes.

Also included are pet food donation drives, a salute to our K9 military and search and rescue dogs, cat initiatives, special programs at sanctuaries, blessing for the animals, and fun-filled festival days for families to come and enjoy food, music and the amazing animals! Kentucky Earth Day events will be spotlighted, of course!
